The following options for playing CDs and DVDs are displayed in the Audio tab in the CD/DVD Drive Properties dialog box.
Playback Options | Description |
Digital | Specifies that digital mode is used when playing CDs or DVDs. Audio is sent to your speakers as You must click this option if you want to use the graphic equalizer or the SRS WOW settings. |
Use error correction | Specifies whether to correct anomalies in digital playback when listening to CDs or DVDs. Using error correction helps to minimize any minor noises that you can hear. |
Analog | Specifies that analog mode is used when playing CDs or DVDs. Audio is sent to your speakers as |
The following options for copying CDs are displayed in the Audio tab in the dialog box.
Copy Options | Description |
Digital | Specifies that digital mode is used when copying CDs. Click this option to listen to a CD while you are copying tracks to your computer, or if you have digital speakers.
Your hardware (CD-ROM drive and speakers) determines whether you are able to copy and listen to tracks using digital or analog audio. Select the settings that work best with your hardware. If you notice hiccups or pops in the copied audio files and your CD-ROM drive is a slower drive (single or double speed), click Analog instead. |
Use error correction | Specifies whether to use error correction when copying audio from a CD to your library. The error correction feature tries to fix problems that are caused when audio content is copied to your computer. You may notice scratchy audio or pops in the audio that you copy. Select this check box to help reduce any noise in the audio. |
Analog | Specifies that analog mode is used when copying CDs. If your hardware does not support digital copying, analog copying may be used instead.
If analog copying is used, background sounds may be recorded. |
